Peloton Calibration
If your Peloton bike is new, the calibration should be correct. However, second-hand bikes and bikes that have been moved, the calibration can change. This leads to the necessity for recalibration.
Filamend cannot be held responsible for any damage caused as a result of using these instructions, or our calibration tool. You perform this recalibration at your own risk.
First, remove the sweat guard at the front shroud as well as the water bottle holder, which will be in your way during the calibration process. Also, take off the flywheel cover, leaving the flywheel exposed.
Next step is opening the calibration screen menu. This is tricky because there is no specific option or tab on the screen so you have to follow the instructions below:
On the peloton screen, go to options (...) and choose the “About” tab. This will open the information box about the peloton bike.
Tap your finger 5 to 15 times on the top right corner to activate sensor calibration menu.
Once the sensor calibration menu opens, press “get started” and follow the instructions.
Gently set the calibration marker at the top edge of the flywheel and lower the magnets to the wedge. Both left and right magnet carrier arms should be level. If they are not there is a mechanical fault with the bike.
Bring up the black sleeve under the resistance knob. Then, put the larger disc onto the bolt, taking note of the flat sections so that the larger disc clicks into place.
Take the smaller calibration disc and push it onto the shaft on top of the large disc.
There are four marks on the discs one for each quarter turn. You can mark one of these notches with a black marker to make it easier to identify full turns.
Continue following instructions. You will be asked to make 30 rotations.
You will be asked to unplug the bike to restart it.
Then finally reinstall the bottle holder and guard.
